1. We need volunteers to go to the San
Diego City Council meetings each Tuesday and speak up for the seals. They are at 10:00 A.M. at the City Council building, 202 C St.,
12th floor (downtown.) For more info, visit www.sandiego.gov/city-council/.
2. We need the names and addresses of anyone who lives in the districts of Council members
Donna Frye, Ralph Inzunza, Tony Young, Toni Atkins, and Jim Madaffer. We need lists of people in each district who support us. It would be even better if any of you can go with us to a meeting with the City Council member. If you don't know who your city council member is, visit
www.sandiego.gov/city-council/.
3. We need a huge number of letters and phone calls from anyone and everyone!
A. Senator Barbara Boxer: Ask her to contact the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), requesting
that they enforce the Marine Mammal Protection Act, which protects the seals. We need a rope installed at Casa Beach,
(aka: The Children’s Pool) at least for the duration of the pupping season!

B. Contact Mayor Dick Murphy and the San Diego City Council to request that the Marine
Mammal Protection Act and City laws be enforced, and that the city reinstate all protective measures including signs and barriers.
The promised surveillance cameras
will not be effective without the rope barrier.
